Whether you’re selling the TV, handing it off to a roommate, or just troubleshooting a stuck account, signing out of Netflix on a TV takes one of two paths. This guide follows Netflix’s own Help Center instructions, which apply generically across TVs and streaming media players.

How to Sign Out of Netflix on TV: The Short Answer
There are two ways to do it: sign out from inside the Netflix app itself, or sign out remotely from your Netflix account page on any device. The account-page method also lets you choose whether to sign out of just this TV or every device at once.
Method 1: Sign Out From the Netflix App
According to Netflix’s Help Center, from the Netflix home screen you press the back button on your remote to reach the menu. If the menu appears at the top of the screen, go left to your profile icon, select Get Help, then Sign out.
If that menu isn’t available on your device, Netflix documents a fallback: enter the remote button sequence Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up. This opens a hidden menu with options for Sign out, Reset, or Deactivate. Netflix presents this as a fallback for when the standard menu path isn’t reachable — it isn’t confirmed to work identically on every remote or device.
Method 2: Sign Out From Your Account (Works From Any Device)
If you can’t reach the in-app menu — say, the remote is missing, or the profile icon isn’t where you expect — you can sign out from your Netflix account instead, using a phone, computer, or any other device with a browser.
Go to netflix.com/manageaccountaccess while signed in — the steps are covered on Netflix’s own help page for signing out of a device. From there, you can sign out of a single device by tapping or clicking the down arrow next to it and selecting Sign Out, or use the Sign Out of All Devices option at the bottom of the page, which asks you to confirm before it applies.
Signing Out of One Device vs. All Devices
Signing out of one device removes Netflix access from just that TV or player, leaving every other signed-in device untouched. Signing out of all devices does what it says — every device tied to your account gets signed out at once, which is the option to use if you’re not sure what else might still be logged in.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why isn’t my TV showing in my device list?
Netflix’s Help Center notes that a device list on the account-page can take up to 48 hours to update after you use it, and a device that’s been inactive for 90 or more days may not appear in the list at all. If your TV is missing, it’s worth checking again after a day or two before assuming something’s wrong.
Does Apple TV work the same way?
Netflix’s own instructions note that Apple TV has its own separate sign-out process, distinct from the general TV/streaming-player steps above. We haven’t sourced the specific Apple TV steps for this guide — if you’re on an Apple TV, check Netflix’s Help Center directly for that device’s instructions.
