Why is my LG TV screen flickering? LG’s support page says the cause may be a weak or unstable broadcast signal, or a problem in the TV itself. Here we follow that page, Troubleshooting Continuous Screen Flickering. SignalVetted hasn’t tested any TV.

Why Is My LG TV Screen Flickering? The Four Causes LG Lists
LG lists four causes: a weak input signal, which can cause flicker or glitches; an unstable antenna connection or worn-out cables, which may lead to picture issues; problems with the connection to an external device, such as a set-top box; and internal component issues in the TV. For antenna broadcasts, LG says the internet connection isn’t related; for IPTV, check the internet connection.
Does the Menu Flicker Too? LG’s First Check
LG says to press the settings or volume button on the remote and see whether the menu appears normally. If it displays normally, the problem may be with a connected device or the cables. If the menu flickers too, the issue may lie with the TV itself, and LG says to contact LG Customer Support.
Reseat the HDMI Cable and Check the Antenna Cable
LG says to turn off the TV and any connected devices, then remove the HDMI cable from the back of the TV and reconnect it. If possible, do the same at the external device. It also advises checking the antenna cable for damaged or loose connections.
Why Is My LG TV Screen Flickering With a Weak Signal? Check the Strength
A weak digital broadcast signal can make the screen flicker, according to LG. LG’s page lists the steps by model year, so the path depends on your TV. Open Settings, then All Settings, then Channels (under General on newer TVs), Channel Tuning and Manual Tuning, and select the connected antenna. LG’s 2025 steps say you can see strength and quality for a specific channel.
LG says the signal is considered very weak if the strength is 50% or both strength and quality are below 70%. If so, it advises contacting your building’s maintenance office or your service provider.
What LG’s Page Doesn’t Cover
The page is dated 11/26/2025 and is LG’s own guidance, not independent testing. In the text we reviewed, it names the four causes only and doesn’t say how to fix a fault inside the TV beyond contacting LG Customer Support. We don’t cover gaming or OLED-specific flicker, or brightness settings.
